Marks & Spencer Expanding Its Item-Level RFID Trial

A fascinating story in ComputerWeekly reports on British retail powerhouse Marks & Spencer and their efforts to increase the number of products being tracked at the item-level from 25 million to 49 million.

Staff in 42 stores use Bluetooth retail handheld devices to scan garments in a weekly stock check. Every tagged garment in a store can be read in 90 minutes.
