Taking Mobile Strategies Seriously
Written by Evan SchumanOctober 21st, 2009
As M-Commerce and mobile payment become must-have technologies, chains are just now seriously exploring various strategies. What role will—should?—interchange play in the mobile playground of, say, 2012? Carriers and handset manufacturers are going to demand a role, and banks may squeeze out the card brands. But is that truly desirable for the retailer?
And where does data in a mobile transaction get stored? Security and convenience always fight each other, but never more so than in a mobile environment. We explore those issues in the latest in a series of StorefrontBacktalk GuestView columns that will appear on a new blog launched by security vendor McAfee. The second of our columns posted Wednesday (Oct. 21).

Our Comment SPAM system is getting very aggressive these days and has been blocking legitimate comments. If you post a comment and don't see it appear within 2 hours or so, can you please send a heads-up to customer-service@storefrontbacktalk? Ideally, please include the time you posted the comment. That will allow us to try and hunt for it. Thanks! P.S. We're working on fixing the system, but we don't want to lose any valuable comments in the meantime.
